In 2014, Simon and Sue Lawrence established Homestay International, an organisation focused on building friendships and relationships for thousands of young travellers and adults across Europe and beyond. Since our inception, we have turned initial meetings into trusted partnerships

Reliability and trust are essential to our ability to provide exceptional services, including quality accommodation, engaging historical events, exciting activities, and comprehensive support from start to finish. We take pride in being a leader in delivering these experiences. Our travelling teachers, who visit us year after year, add a fun aspect to the travelling group and are vital in delivering experiences alongside Homestay International. We are truly grateful for their support.

Matt, who is our Resource Manager joined us in 2014 and oversees events along side Simon which makes our programmes what they are, not just visiting places of interest but with local history and reenactments which makes learning fun and engaging.  Our dedicated teachers provide General English lessons in groups of 15 at our local school close to the town centre.

In February 2026 Homestay International will be celebrating 12 years in the industry, we have had an amazing amount of support over the years, not only from our local host families, agents, partners and friends but from the wider community in our hometown of Eastbourne.  Local residents and businesses encourage tourism and young learners to the town.  Set between the beautiful South Downs and the Victorian seafront, Eastbourne has a lot to offer.
