British Youth Travel Awards Achieve Advanced Accreditation from the Independent Awards Standards Council

The British Educational Travel Association (BETA) is proud to announce that the British Youth Travel Awards (BYTA) have achieved Advanced Accreditation from the Independent Awards Standards Council, recognising the programme’s continued commitment to integrity, transparency and sector-leading best practice.

The Awards Trust Mark is an independent accreditation scheme that benchmarks award programmes against rigorous standards covering governance, judging independence and ethical operation. Progressing to Advanced Accreditation confirms that the British Youth Travel Awards are not only meeting these standards, but are actively strengthening and evolving the way excellence in youth, student and educational travel is recognised.

Independent Awards Standard Council “Many congratulations to the British Youth Travel Awards. It was great to see such a thorough process being fulfilled. Both judges and entrants alike gave great feedback. You are a credit to the awards industry – vital in an age where vanity awards are rife!”

Emma English “Achieving Advanced Accreditation is an important milestone for the British Youth Travel Awards. It reflects the care and rigour that sits behind the programme – from independent judging and robust criteria to the way we engage with entrants across the sector.
“The Awards celebrate the organisations and individuals who make youth and educational travel such a powerful force for learning, opportunity and cultural exchange. This recognition gives our community even greater confidence that the Awards are fair, meaningful and truly reflective of excellence.”

The British Youth Travel Awards showcase outstanding achievement across the sector, with categories spanning accommodation, education, experiences, sustainability, customer service and innovation. Entries are assessed by an independent panel of expert judges representing travel, education and business.

The 2026 competition will open in May, with details of the awards ceremony to be announced later in the year. Sponsorship opportunities are now available for organisations wishing to align with the sector’s most trusted celebration of youth and educational travel.
