Home to the Dukes of Marlborough since 1705, Blenheim Palace was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987. Set in over 2,000 acres of ‘Capability’ Brown landscaped park and gardens, it was designed by Vanbrugh in the Baroque style and is also the birthplace of one of Britain’s most famous leaders, Sir Winston Churchill
With over 300 years of history to share and one of the most important and extensive collections in Europe, the magnificent stately home has a rich variety of cultural highlights and an extensive programme of special events and exhibitions.
Coined as Britain’s Greatest Palace, Blenheim Palace is a treasure trove for an educational day out. We offer programmes to learn about Sir Winston Churchill, touring the splendid Palace, 300 years of the Spencer Churchill family the Dukes and Duchess of Marlborough and exploring the park through our sustainability and conservation programmes.
Pupils and students will come to know more about the key individuals from the estate’s past and learn about the wonders of this eighteenth-century Palace and its surroundings.
Pupils, students and teachers will enjoy their time at Blenheim, including participating in the well-organised and delivered workshops, living up to its learning ambition of focusing on education, engagement and entertainment.
Our programme currently caters for pupils in KS1, KS2 and KS3, and we are thrilled to announce that in 2027 we will be launching our EFL programme and workshops. This exciting addition will offer immersive, curriculum-enriching experiences that combine cultural learning with language development, supporting vocabulary building and an understanding of British expressions — all within the historic setting of Blenheim Palace.
All our workshops are designed in line with the National Curriculum. Pupils work in teams to solve each task.
Our Self-led Resources for Teachers and Worksheets for Pupils are designed to support school groups that wish to visit at their own pace.
