Museum of Illusions, one of the world’s fastest-growing experiential attractions, opened its doors in London on 8th May – bringing a globally recognised, education-rich brand to the heart of the capital. Situated at 15-17 Tottenham Court Road and spanning over 10,000 square feet, it’s a landmark-scale venue in one of London’s busiest cultural and tourist corridors. With over 70 interactive exhibits exploring the science of perception, it is a compelling new addition to youth, student and educational travel programmes in London.

With nearly 70 locations across 28 countries and over 25 million visitors worldwide, Museum of Illusions is already a familiar name to young travellers and educators around the globe. For language schools, school trip organisers, group tour operators and educational travel professionals, the London venue represents a proven, bookable experience that combines entertainment with genuine learning outcomes across STEM, psychology, physics and art.

Why it works for youth and educational travel

The attraction is designed to engage young people of all ages – from primary school pupils to university students and young adult travellers – making it a highly versatile addition to educational programmes and social itineraries. Dwell time is typically 60–90 minutes, and the experience is fully self-guided, making it easy to schedule alongside language classes, city tours or wider group activities.

The London venue features over 70 interactive installations, including fan-favourites such as the Vortex Tunnel, Walk-In Kaleidoscope, Infinity Room and holograms, alongside a suite of entirely new exhibits created exclusively for London. These include a climbable 10 Downing Street façade – where visitors can scale the famous front steps and dangle from the iconic black door –, a Reversed Room reimagining a classic London street scene, and a brand-new Ghost Room. Each exhibit is rooted in scientific principles – from optics and physics to psychology and neuroscience – making the experience genuinely cross-curricular. A London-themed gift shop completes the visit.

Every exhibit is designed to be hands-on, highly shareable and genuinely thought-provoking – sparking conversations about how we perceive the world around us and why our senses can be tricked by clever design.

Proven UK track record

The London launch follows the successful debut of Museum of Illusions’ first UK site in Manchester, which opened two years ago. The Manchester venue has established a strong operational blueprint and demonstrated the format’s appeal to young visitors, school groups and international students alike, giving educational travel partners confidence in the product.

Kim Schaefer, CEO, Museum of Illusions said

London is one of the world’s most dynamic cultural and tourism destinations,
making it the perfect home for our next opening. This marks an important
milestone in our global expansion, and we look forward to welcoming visitors
to explore, engage and see the world from a new perspective.
